Snow Clearing FAQ

What’s the difference between 3cm and 5cm snow removal?

For 3cm snow removal, our team will arrive once the snow accumulates to 3cm (or 5cm, depending on your selection) and will clear it within a few hours after the snow has stopped.

When will the snow be cleared?

We monitor weather forecasts 2-3 days in advance and prepare the routes the day before snowfall. Customers are kept informed, and our crew is dispatched immediately after the snowfall ends.

Is snow removed within 12 hours after it starts snowing or stops snowing?

We begin clearing snow after it has completely stopped and work until we are done. Most snow will be removed within a few hours.

When are crews dispatched?

Crews are usually dispatched early in the morning after the snow stops. We clear snow once per day. For example, if it snows from 1 pm to 5 pm on Monday, the crews will begin Monday evening and continue on Tuesday morning. If it snows from 9 am to 11 am on Monday, your property will be cleared later that day.

Are windows, packed snow, ice buildup, or wind-blown snow included?

Windrows from city plows, packed snow, ice buildup, and wind-blown snow without fresh snowfall are not included by default.

What equipment do you use?

We use all necessary tools to get the job done: shovels, snow plows, backpack blowers, snow throwers, and ice chippers. Additionally, our system allows us to plan efficient routes and provide timely notifications.

What happens when a customer complains about incomplete work or is unsatisfied with the service?

We offer a Gold Seal Guarantee and 100% satisfaction. If a customer is unsatisfied, our Customer Service team or City Manager will contact the Home Pro/Contractor to schedule a return visit. If the contractor is unable to return, we will send another contractor and deduct 100% of the commission from the contractor who left the job incomplete.

What if I am not available or unable to work on expected snow days?

Routes are set up before winter to ensure consistency and familiarity. We expect contractors to adhere to their routes and complete them within the required time for every snowfall. If unable to meet this condition, future snowfall visits will be reassigned to another team.

What should I do if I find a patch of ice on the stairway that could be hazardous for the customer?

If you encounter a potential hazard, please apply salt from the customer’s bin or your own supply to ensure the area is safe for the customer.

Is it mandatory to check in with the customer before and after clearing the snow?

While it’s not mandatory, we encourage you to verify your work with the customer if they are available, ensuring that it’s safe for them to step out and approve the work.

What if my snow blower or shovel breaks during snow removal, and I can’t complete the route?

We recommend having backup equipment, such as extra snow blowers and shovels. Since machinery can fail, being prepared for uncertainties is crucial. Contractors are responsible for planning backup options before the season begins.

What if the customer requests snow to be cleared off their car?

Due to liability concerns, we do not clear snow off cars. We ensure that snow is cleared around the car, leaving a gap without touching the vehicle.

Are we expected to carry our own salt for snow removal?

Customers are instructed to leave a bag of salt outside, according to their preference. However, if you encounter a safety hazard due to ice buildup and there is no salt outside, please use your own salt to ensure the customer’s safety.
